Vermont offers Medicaid, medicare and medi-cal programs to those residents within the state of Vermont. There is currently an opioid epidemic that is happening throughout the state. With many lawmakers looking to change this, more has to be done to reduce the addictions.
Currently, Vermont has the lowest number of addiction treatment spots of the states. They are seeing a rise in the number of users throughout the state. They need to aim to double the amount of beds and space they have available for those users seeking help. The state universities are looking to increase mental health and addiction programs throughout the entire state for a healthier state. This is a big change that would need a lot of input from others.
